celebrating four decades of "dirt don't hurt"

May 29th, 2020

Dear Telluride Academy Families,

Patience has become the new normal for so many of us these days. While we have been extremely proactive in our efforts to completely redesign our summer programs, we are still finding ourselves in a "hurry up and wait" situation. The governor of Colorado, Jared Polis made an announcement on May 25th allowing summer programs to begin operations on June 1st. Currently only single overnights are allowed which so far seems to affect only our "expedition" teen programs. We are expecting San Miguel County to announce their adoption and/or amendment of this state ruling today (May 29th). Assuming the county aligns with the majority of these new guidelines, we expect to have a green light to operate soon!

Our tentative plan at this time is to begin student programming on June 15th. We expect to begin R-1 family registration on June 1st. This is to ensure that our programming can play a role in supporting our local families returning to work. We will then open up registration to any family that had previously registered with us in 2020 on June 5th and finally open up to new participants on June 8th.

We expect to have a combination of open enrollment programming each week as well as a designated number of "custom camps" available. We ask for you patience as we work hard to relaunch an entire summer in a very short amount of time.

Your in adventure,

Team TA

 (And think you should too!)
