Advanced Wranglers will head to Circle K Ranch for a five-day horseback riding program that offers the same important skill-building as before, but with an emphasis on longer and more challenging trail rides and TRU (Trust, Respect, Understanding) horsemanship practice. We’ll work on growing a relationship with our horses both on the ground and in the saddle. We’ll practice building partnerships, navigating obstacle courses, crossing rivers and safely managing more technical terrain. When we aren’t riding, the ranch offers plenty of hiking trails, a low ropes course, rustic bunk houses and the Dolores River for cooling off after a dusty day on the trail. On the last night, we’ll pack up our gear and trail ride into a backcountry campsite for a night sleeping under stars! In the morning we’ll ride our horses back to the ranch and have a final celebration before saying goodbye to our equestrian friends. Don’t miss this opportunity to grow your understanding of what it means to be a true wrangler!
*All participants must have cowboy boots in order to work with the horses. All students enrolled in this program must have prior, basic experience riding horses.
