Pack your bags for two weeks of high alpine and deep desert adventures that will supply lots of laughs, life-long learning and NO BOYS! This new Academy program is designed to teach individual leadership as well as community and personal empowerment through numerous unique and exciting field based adventures. Week one starts on the water with personal paddling instruction from our professional boating staff. You will learn how to safely read and run our local San Miguel River in both a team-based paddle-raft adventure and as a solo paddler in your own smaller craft. Week two takes to the high country for a "Train-Trekking" adventure into the Weminuche Wilderness. Betty's will board the Durango-Silverton train and disembark deep in the wild for a three-night backpacking adventure. Backcountry skills will be shared, taught and practiced as we create comfy base camps, cook creative cuisine, learn how to read maps and attempt awe-inspiring peak summits in one of the most stunning wilderness settings in North America. Get stoked, get inspired and come find your tribe with the new Backcountry Bettys!
