Trustees of Telluride Academy make a contribution of $2,500 or $5,000 annually for a minimum of 5-years. Trustees may earmark their contributions to an existing Academy initiative (Tuition Assistance, Inclusion or Gear) or any other area of interest including support earmarked for a specific program (ex. our after-school programs). Trustees may also elect to deposit their annual contribution into the Academy’s Endowment Fund for the Future. Established in 1996 by a group of dedicated Academy Parents, our endowment fund supports the long-term financial health of our non-profit organization. Academy Board of Directors decides the best use of endowment funds.

Over the years, endowment funds have been used to….

  • Secure United States Forest Service permits providing wild places for our students to explore

  • Loan funds to Academy Operations in lean times of year.  Operational loans are paid back to the endowment fund

  • Loan funds for a down payment allowing us to purchase our new Administrative office.

  • Support the Academy’s tuition assistance fund should annual fundraising goals not cover the need in a given year.

If you are interested in becoming a Trustee of Telluride Academy, please contact the  Executive Director, Luke Brown Luke@tellurideacademy.org or by phone 970.728.5311.

Other Ways to Give

Donate use of your land: Every Wednesday night throughout the summer, almost all Academy programs experience a weekly camp out. Academy overnights are the cornerstone of our curriculum. During our busiest weeks, we are utilizing over 25 camp sites throughout the region at one time. The Academy holds a number of National Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management permits that provide amazing camp sites throughout the region. Through the generosity of many local land owners, we also camp on a number of private properties. If you have a vacant piece of land in the region that you are willing to let us camp on and explore, we would love to speak with you about it. Liability insurance is in place to protect each land owner. Contact luke@tellurideacademy.org for more information.

Host a Wednesday Evening Parent Party: Throughout our summer season we offer 3 or 4 Parent Parties (almost always on Wednesday evenings) when Academy kids are on their overnight camp-outs. These social gatherings are a great way for Parents to meet. We depend on the generosity of Academy families to host these informal free flowing events. As the host, you would be responsible for providing beverages and light appetizers to serve the guests in attendance. We usually host 20-30 people at each Parent Party. If you are interested in hosting an Academy Parent party contact luke@tellurideacademy.org

Donate Your Old Vehicle: Gifting your old car to the Academy helps keep our own vehicle fleet up-to-date. In the past, we have used donated vehicles to shuttle gear and staff around. If the vehicle donated is not appropriate for our use, we sell it and use the proceeds to support a future vehicle purchase.

Business Sponsorship: Do you have a product or service you would like to present to Academy Families? The children of approx. 600 families participate in Academy programming annually. New families join every year. Our student population is a mix of 40% local and 60% visiting/2nd home owners. Academy families love the outdoors and are committed to providing their children with a hefty dose of healthy outdoor adventure. If you would like to reach Academy families and promote an appropriate product or service you can do so through Sponsorship of the Academy. Contact luke@tellurideacademy.org for more information.

Share your Talents: We are always looking for ways to enrich the Academy experience, for students and parents alike. If you have any ideas (or talents) you would like to share with our Academy community we would love to talk with you. We love new ideas. Contact luke@tellurideacademy.org for more information.

Thank you for your support!
