Mountain Media: #vanlife edition. Tell your stories from the road! Mountain Media returns for a travel-based journalism journey into the ancient cultures of Southwest Colorado. During week one, we'll brush up on our photography, GoPro, interviewing, and journalism skills in Telluride and the San Juan wilderness. We'll spend two nights in one of the area's local huts, where students will live in a massive mountain lodge that is fully equipped with a kitchen, lounging areas, wood burning stoves, and cozy sleeping quarters! This will serve as our base camp from which we can venture out and record our outdoor adventures before publishing them on the Mountain Media blog and website. During week two, we'll hit the road for an investigative trip in the desert, where we will camp under the stars, meet with locals from the Anasazi cultural center, and explore the ruins in Hovenweep National Monument and Mesa Verde National Park. We’ll learn about the lives of our ancestors and depict our cultural journey through creative media forms. Join us as the box canyon’s youngest journalists take to the road for an immersive and empowering media experience!
