The snow is melting and the rivers are raging! River Runners will spend two weeks learning the skills needed to charge the rapids of our regional waterways. We’ll captain our own inflatable duckies and learn the paddle techniques and terminology needed to safely read river features and navigate obstacles along the way. Our first week will end with a trip down the Hanging Flume section of the Dolores River. Our second week takes us deep into the desert for a multi-day self-support river trip on the Lower Gunnison River and Dominguez-Escalante Canyon. We will spend our days paddling beneath the sandstone bluffs and hiking red rock canyons. On our layover day, we will search for ancient ruins and petroglyphs. We will beat the heat with plenty of time spent charging waves, finding secret swimming holes and sleeping out under the stars along the pristine beaches. Join us on this wet and wild adventure with the legendary River Runners!
