Let the wind be your guide during this week-long instructional sailing program! Sail the San Juans is a NEW collaboration program with Peaks & Tides that introduces students to the life-long sport of sailing in a fun and experiential setting. Whether you’re a beginner sailor and want to learn to sail on the warm waters at Lake Navajo, or you are an improving aficionado, there is something for everyone in this wind-powered program. Your sailing instructors are enthusiastic sailors and seasoned outdoor leaders that will engage aspiring sailors by helping them explore their independence and build character while honing their observation skills, using practical math, science and technology, developing environmental stewardship practices, and having a blast! Mornings are magical at Navajo Lake and sailors will enjoy crowd-free waters, an abundance of wildlife and winds perfect for sailing. Afternoons will include refreshing stand up paddle board sessions, exploratory hikes and nights telling “tall tales from the seas” around our group camp fires. You’ll return a competent sailor who’s ready for more wind-powered adventures!
