SUP Yogi is BACK in 2020 with a new and exciting twist! Stretch, bend, flow, move and laugh your way through the San Juans with our Academy yoga specialist Kelsey Trottier! SUP Yogi is just how it sounds… Yoga and flow movement on water using SUPs (Stand-Up Paddle Boards)! This mind, body and soul experience will enlighten eccentric adventurers to the wonderful ways of a yogi-lifestyle through a variety of fun and engaging activities. There will be daily yoga sessions on land and water, movement meditations, somatic exercises, and yoga philosophy.
We’ll spend the first day of our program learning basic yoga fundamentals and heading out to the lake for our first SUP Yogi session! The next day we’ll leave for our double-overnight yoga retreat at a hidden backcountry hut. This retreat will give us opportunity to embrace the calming elements of the outdoors and discover the true foundations of our yoga practice before hitting the water! During the second week and new in 2020, we’ll be taking our Yoga practice on a multi-day RIVER trip! We’ll adventure deep into the Dominguez- Escalante Canyon on the Lower Gunnison River, where we’ll spend our days paddling beneath the sandstone bluffs and hiking red rock canyons. On our layover day, we will search for ancient petroglyphs and participate in sunrise and sunset yoga sessions. We will beat the heat with plenty of time spent charging waves, finding secret swimming holes and sleeping out under the stars along pristine beaches. You’ll emerge from this two-week program with the tools needed to develop your very own yoga practice.
